“Bing Bong Bouncing Howie’s Prancing Christmas Tree” is being published in just a few days. It will be available on Amazon for purchase by Monday, November 18, 2024. Your bouncing little one will love this book!
After visiting the Baby Jesus, Bing Bong Bouncing Howie the Truck wants to buy a Christmas tree to surprise Susan Truck. But not just any tree will do. A wiggly, jiggly prancing tree must be found. Best of all, Howie finds dancing twirling mice live in the Christmas tree branches. “Wow”, says Susan Truck when she sees the tree all aglow, “What a FUNTASTIC sight!”
Logan Crowford has been a journalist, news anchor, actor, and is host of the Spotlight Network aired as on You Tube, Roku, and Fire TV. His research team contacted me a month ago with an invitation to be interviewed about my fun little children’s book, “Bing Bong Bouncing Howie the Truck.” Logan Crowford interviews famous actors, sports heros and authors. Yet his team chose an insignificant little book from an unknown author because it delighted them! He also brought focus on my Christmas book, “O Glorious Hope: the Christmas Story of Jesus Brith and Love for Us”. Wow, how exciting this was for me.
Please take some time to watch this 15 minute You Tube. I think you will enjoy it.
Little fairies, hamsters, beavers and campfire S’mores
A delightful make-believe book series for children, ages 2-5, who love hamsters, fairies, cookies, beavers and Jesus. Wheels and Paws are hamsters who live at Boy’s house. They love adventures.
In the first book, they explore, get into mischief, ride the train around the Christmas tree, and swing on ropes in Daddy’s garage. When they sing, “Jesus Loves Me” and can’t remember the words, well, any words will do.
In the second book, the Little Fairies who live in Boy’s pocket, join Wheels and Paws on a camping adventure at Wildwood. The Little Fairies hear their favorite song, “This Little Light of Mine” up in the woods, so off they go to explore. Finding the Forest Factory Fairies, they join in manufacturing the ingredients for S’mores. Yummy. Join them around the campfire at Camp Wildwood.
These two books were imagined by an expert, four year old Boy, my grandson. Grandma ran with his ideas and created “Adventures of Wheels and Paws at Home” and “Adventures of Wheels and Paws at Wildwood”. A third book is the series, “Adventures of Wheels and Paws at Dillon Beach” will come out in late 2025.
Does your toddler like to pretend? Do they like little animals and fairies? What about camping? If so, they will love these books!
“And a little child shall lead you.” And indeed, a child leads me…my grandson, David. He lives far away so we facetime. On a typical morning since he was 2 ½ and still ongoing at age 5, he will tell me a story. It comes random, disconnected, and crazy but he is clear on the details, even if I am not. Then he says, “Grandma, you paint it.” I add my own twists, turns and chuckles. A story takes a couple of calls for him to imagine, but several months for me to complete. Therefore, I will never run out of silly, fun children’s book ideas.
In addition, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with inspirations from the Lord for book ideas. Currently, a paraphrase of the Twenty Third Psalm in rhyme for a goodnight book burst into my head at 2AM. I jumped out of bed to write it down. The few people to whom I read the poem, got a tear in their eye. So, I do believe it is inspired. Now begins the hard work of drawing, painting and publishing. Don’t hold your breath; it probably won’t be out until next spring.
“Weeping may endure for a night, But joycomesinthemorning.” Psalm 30:5
Life is hard. No one escapes suffering. However, we have a choice to wallow in it and be miserable or appreciate the moments that are beautiful, funny, or loving. So when you go to bed after a difficult day, ask God to give you His gladness of heart for the coming new day. Tomorrow morning, when the sun arises, look for the joy in the midst of life’s troubles.
